What inspired your passion for interior design?

I’ve always been fascinated by both interiors and architecture. From my earliest memory, the interior of a space has invariably been my primary focus.

Who are your design mentors, if any?

Rather than mentors, I have an enormous appreciation for many influential innovators from various generations. I’m particularly inspired by the design innovations from the early 20th Century.

What are the most important decorative elements in your home?

There are many important decorative elements, though scale and proportion are critical in order to achieve a harmonious balance. There must also be cohesion so that the space works in its entirety.

“The editing of a space is quite important. If a space is not edited correctly, the design runs the risk of losing its impact. It’s the art of creating just the right balance.”

What are your three most important elements when designing a bedroom or room?

First and foremost, the space must function according to its intended use. It then must be both comfortable and cohesive in order to create an environment that allows a sense of contentment.

Why is quality of sleep important to you?

Quality of sleep is extremely important, as to be well-rested allows creativity to flourish.

From your experience, what is the best decorating advice you can offer someone?

Edit your space. If a space is not edited correctly, the design runs the risk of losing its impact. It’s the art of creating just the right balance. Also, a space must be considered in its entirety, not as individual elements. Although particular elements may be quite successful on their own, it’s how they relate to all of the other elements within a space that are the key to creating a successful interior.

What upcoming projects are you looking forward to?

I truly look forward to all of the projects that I’m involved with. Each project offers new challenges and the opportunity to be creative for wonderful clients is rewarding.

What is your Style of Living?

My style of living is to constantly draw inspiration and to be passionate about what I do.

What are your “Frette Favorites?”

Frette sheets and coverlets are both luxurious and stylish. The quality of a Frette pillow is unrivaled and the bath linens always complete a well-appointed bathroom beautifully.

Where do you go for design inspiration?

I seek inspiration everywhere. In particular, travel to a new destination allows for fresh inspiration.

What is your favorite book, magazine or site related to design?

There are many books that I reference. In particular, Ruhlmann and Historic House of Paris. I also enjoy following all of the magazines related to interiors and architecture.

What is on your nightstand?

A small clock in nickel and the latest book that I’m reading.
